| Even when she's sick in the hospital, She can still insight a riot of laughter. She was admitted on December 7th [hopefully she'll be out tommorow or wednesday] while I was in class. My dad picked me up and we went to see her. Even though she was hooked up to an IV and being poked and prodded, she still had a smile on [She has such an amazing outlook on things]. Once the stream of nurses and phlebotomists coming & going slowed down, I sat down on her bed and she asked me how my class was and then said, "Oh, I feel the need to tell you...Happy Break-Up Day!" I nearly fell off the bed from laughing. Of all the things in the world to be thinking or talking about while in the hospital, she brought up the anniversary of my break-up from Josh! Who does that!? A nurse, who was celebrating her 50th birthday that day, heard and raised her eyebrow. I turned to her and said, "Oh, Happy Birthday...It's Pearl Harbor Day too, ya know..." She nodded and smiled, then asked about what my mom had meant, to which I replied [in a rather dorky voice], "It's the third anniversary of the day I broke up with the only boyfriend I've ever had." She roared laughing and said, "Between those three [birthday, Pearl Harbor, break-up], I think I'd take yours!" |
